The Hanging Egg Chair is an iconic chair, designed by Nanna and Jorgen Ditzel in 1959. It is ideal for rooms with high ceilings where there is plenty of air and space for the stunning Egg Chair design to come into its own. It can be hung either by chain directly in the ceiling or from a stand (both to be purchased separately.)

It is handmade from carefully selected rattan of the highest quality by skilled wicker makers. Environmentally sustainable, rattan is a remarkably strong and indestructible material and thus the Hanging Egg is a unique piece of furniture capable of lasting for generations.

The Hanging Egg Chair is part of Sika-Design's exclusive ICONS collection, which represents a unique selection of design furniture, created by renowned designers. With great respect and admiration for the original designs and in close collaboration with the descendants of these well-known furniture designers, Sika-Design is delighted to bring these pieces back to the fore.

Cushion: The Hanging Egg Chair Cushion is developed at Sika Designs Danish sewing studio to add extra comfort and fit perfectly into each piece of furniture. Maintenance: rattan requires no maintenance and can be cleaned with a lightly dampened cloth if required.
